I can't help but wonder how long she believed that after she got to Bergen-Belsen.

I believe that most people are basically good, however, we don't hear much about them because they are not the ones the media focuses on.
Good people don't have to be in the limelight and don't have to do BIG things to be recognized. Even doing something as small as smiling at someone can really make that person's day. Or offering to help people out, such as if you see a mother in the grocery store with 3 kids and a cart full of groceries, maybe there's something you can do for her. For instance, a long time ago, we were (my husband and I) were in the supermarket and it was pouring. It hadn't been raining long. The lady did not have an umbrella and yes she did have 3 kids. When she was ready to leave, he walked her out with the cart and 3 kids and waited with her so she could get the kids and the groceries and herself inside the car without them getting too wet.
That's called a random act of kindness and it goes on more than we know.
Pass it on as often as you can.

I believe most people are basically good, but there are some that are pure evil. It is the way of the world...the yin to the yang.
The point is: Don't let the evil people win. Do not become like them, or they would have one. This task is not as easy to achieve as one may like to believe.

I agree that most people are basically good, but there are some out there that just don't even know what good is, or how to be good. Be with my ex husband for awhile and you will find out what I mean.

I struggle with that question. I like to think that they are basically good, but even if that's so....then it makes me wonder why there is so much violence between human beings.

yes at the end of her dairy the last sentence was" in spit of everything i still do believe people are good at heart"
that's my favorite line
and its true
so yes people are good
in different ways
