Like I'm young and I think I'm depressed.I am stressed, too. Some of my hair falls off only like strings of it.Not a bunch. And I have asthma and everyday my throat closes up a little bit so it's hard to breathe. And I have after school until 6 o'clock and one of my bestest friends doesn't go to after school, other only has one activity with me,and the one who told me about the program has only 1 activity with me,too. We used to be in all 3.Dance,cooking,and fencing.I got kiked out of dance but she is still in it,my friend is thinking of switching to another program because we don't have enouph time to cook, and the last one she is not coming because she dont like fencing anymore. And I was almost completly silent today for fencing.I only spoke to about 4 boys there and the teacher. So do you think it's bad to be depressed at a young age?

Farhana, How old are you when you say, "young age"? Everyone gets a little depressed now and then. We all get stressed out, have bad days, or a bad few days, and get upset. How long have you been feeling this way and how intense is it? Because of your asthma, what medications are you on? Sometimes, the asthma medications, the steroids (if you are taking any) might cause mood fluctuations and irregularities that your doctor should be able to determine and help you with. First, you must realize that just because you feel sad or just plain old rotten, doesn't mean that you'll need clinical help. On the other hand, if the sadness has lasted for a long time, more then six weeks, and gets very intense and you find yourself crying or wanting to hurt others or yourself, sleeping much more than normal or a lot less than normal, eating a lot more than normal or a lot less than normal or generally not enjoying the same things that you used to enjoy, it is a serious problem that you must address with a professional. If that's the case, talk to your doctor and he'll help you find a licensed pediatric psychologist (if you're under the age of 18) or a pediatric psychiatrist. Like I said before, sometimes we're just having a rotten day or two and just need to get away from it all. Find fun activities for yourself. Things that relax you and make you feel good (and that doesn't mean plop yourself on a couch and watch TV all day!!!). Work with your doctor to get your asthma under control and join a gym. Working out on a regular basis will not only help your asthma get better and keep it under control but working up a sweat will also make you feel better on those rotten days. But, because of your asthma, MAKE SURE YOU GO SEE A DOCTOR FIRST!!! Keep a little diary for yourself and write in it everyday. Write down the things that made you feel sad and write down the things that made you feel happy. Then, read it over, and write down what you can do or try to do to make the things that make you feel sad go away or change. Then write down the things that made you feel happy again. Stay away or try to do something to help or change the things that make you feel sad, and do the things that make you feel happy more often so you won't feel sad anymore. After you've gotten over your depression, do the things that make you feel happy or give yourself a treat when you do simething that's good for you. For example, everytime you finish your homwork and get good grades on your homework give yourself a treat, or everytime you get a good grade on a test, do something that makes you feel happy. Remember, we don't live in a perfect world but if we try to make it better, we can and should be comfortable in the knowledge that we've tried. If our world has changed, it will be because we made it that way and if it hasn't, no one can take away the knowledge that we gave it our best. Howver, Farhana, if your sadness is really, really bad, and you feel too hopeless or angry, talk to a professional who can help you deal with the things that make you depressed and sad or angry. Depression is a medical illness just like a cold or a flu. Just like a cold or a flu, it could be a minor little thing that will go away on its own (which I hope it is) or a major thing that you'll need medicine for. There's nothing wrong with getting medicine because you're sick, so don't feel bad if it comes to that point. Either way, I hope you feel better :-)

I think it's ok to be stressed out sometimes, as long as you know how do deal with the stress in a healthy way. Your involvment in things like dance and fencing are wonderful ways to burn of the stress. As far as depression, should your feelings become any worse, i'd say go see someone. Depression becomes a problem fast if it's not corrected. and age is not a factor. I've been diagnosed with clinical depression-i know how you feel. I was only a junior in highschool. Never be too shy or afraid to ask for help or someone to talk to. Find a close friend, or family member you can trust. Let yourself talk through the stress until you feel better. If this doesn't work, then i might suggest talking to your doctor to see if there are any other options open for you.

Saving Private Ryan. I walked out of the movie considering that I used to be so unhappy. BQ: Happy Birthday Emily Blunt! I have not obvious lots of her films, however I will move with The Devil Wears Prada. BQ2: I do not nescessarily feel of grave of the fireflies while a youngster is guffawing. I am much more likely to feel of My Neighbor Totoro. And no, this hasn't relatively occurred to me. BQ3: I might say such a lot persons provide a few recognize to most sensible critics, however no longer plenty. For me, individually, I move on RT and examine the Critic experiences to the person experiences. If they each get a tight ranking, then I will move see the film. However, I will likely be sincere that I have obvious a few films rotten tomatoes gave a terrible ranking (via critics) and I notion used to be ok . A well instance for me is Law Abiding Citizen. Hope this is helping.

Yes it is. It's rough on your body physically and mentally. If you need to, take some medication for it! If not, what I would suggest is, at the end of the day, right before you go to bed, take some time to reflect on the positive things in life. That will help put your mind at ease. Anyways, I'm sure you don't have anything to be depressed about!

Make an appointment to see a counselor. They will help you get the help you absolutely need.

By the way, try to get a referral from your doctor, and not the ones from the school. It just seems school counselors are really quacks that couldn't land a real counseling job anywhere else.

i think you should talk to your parents or teachers let everyone know how you are feeling.
depression cannot be classed as bad its how you feel.
and depression in a young person can lead to depression in adulthood.
best to talk to people close to you.
it also sounds like you have a lot of activity's going on that could be causing stress and pressure.
and speak to your doctor about how your asthma is making you feel.
try to find something positive in all these area's of your life and it won't feel as bad.

Something Specially
For You

I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard-
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word!
I didn't ask for wealth or fame
(I knew you wouldn't mind)-
I asked Him to send you treasures
Of a far more lasting kind!
I asked that He'd be near you
At the start of each new day
To grant you health and blessings
And my friendship to share your way
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small-
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all.

You should not be depressed - you should be enjoying your life. I think the best thing you can do is see your doctor and join a support group. Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed - you should be having fun. I wish you the best.

Well, it certainly isn't much fun! You don't really sound so depressed, but rather you sound lonely. Maybe you could try to make some more friends. It's tough to count on only one or two friends to meet your needs.

Talk to an adult you trust.

God bless you.

yes, it is bad, but theres a solution, manage your time, make an agenda and follow it. and to deal with the depression, learn to play and instrument like the guitar or the drums, this will relax you and you can get all of your anger out like that, i had the same problem before, but I learned to play the guitar and I loved it, this relaxed me, then i learned to play the drums to release my anger, then the harmonica to help me with my breathing (it actually works) and the piano for my coordiantion and concentration.
