It depends on how they rebuild the party. The republican party not all full parahs in thier. A small minority of republicans voted down every spending increase bill they could yet those people are left. The big goverment neo-cons with Fascist leaning are gone thank god. Republican rebuild in the mold of Goldwater or Reagan it could help recapture congress in the long term. The republicans blew it in 2006 because Rove stress the soical conservative base instead of talking about how to fix Iraq they were trying to scare people with delusions apoculese like situations if the democrats get elected. Better to vote for freedom at times than higher taxes because freedom is worth more than 500 dollars back. In six years the republicans may look like a compeletly different party because now they know not to stray to far from the 50 point area of the dart board. I hope it become the goverment of smaller goverment, less taxes, more freedom. Democrats were the only option for some because they felt thier freedom was being taken away.

The Republican party under the Bush regime has been an extreme example of US. government, but this is not an isolated incident.
In fact, the USA's foreign and domestic policy has been corrupted, inhumane, and unjust for many years whoever the president, It is a mistake to put your faith in a democrat controlled house and senate, although nothing can compare to Bush's puppeteers policies, the trend will continue.

Only when the people demand more from their leaders will there be significant change, It is no excuse to vote every 2 years and then accept your fate, the people need to hold their politicians to account, demonstrate, rebel, do whatever it takes to be heard.

Why not? Slick Willy pulled it off? Seriously, I do believe that there is hope after the smoke clears. I don't trust the Dems anymore than I trust the Republicans that got booted out of office. Time will tell.
