under $4. at every good nursery... tomato hormone spray. one quick little spray on open or opening blooms and it's knocked up. works 99.9% of the time on every flower. no playing bumble bee with little brushes, no damage by shaking or poking around, sudden cool snap at night, blooms still set.

it's cool stuff, for under $5, why waste even one flower.

I guess i should have read garden doks answer before i started to write. Actually had I know Garden Dok had answered the question I wouldn't have bothered at all. I didn't notice his trade mark Bugs Bunny head.
As ususal, the Dok is right on the money. I tried the hormone spray last year and again this year and every flower set and I have tons of tomatoes already. One plant I left unsprayed and it has half the tomatoes as the sprayed plants. Use the spray. It's wonderful!

I use one q-tip as long as it will last. Bloom set is usually not detered from lack of polination, it usually is from an inability to take up nutrient.. Along with a good mix of miracle-grow for tomatoes, I add a teaspoon of epsom's salt per gallon and water twice a month. Good air circulation is a must,, some folks keep bees about, but flies are too nasty for me to use them..

when ur tomato plants bloom, the little yellow flower, take a very fine paint brush and dip it on the stamen of a flower and then put it on the stamen of another flower. u just keep moving the powder from one flower to another and then u will have tomatoes if u do it properly. good luck

if you follow "norags" suggestion you will end up with NO tomatoes but many queer plants!! the stamens are the 'male' parts of plants so you will just be passing the pollen from male to male!! you would need to take pollen from the stigma, style, ovary area {center} and place this on the anther, filament area {outer} areas!! if you google flower parts you will find many sites,, the first one is from the united kingdom and shows all the parts etc,,, however you could always just invite bees, flies etc into the house and let them do their thing!! THEY KNOW HOW ITS DONE RIGHT!!!

With a cheap paint brush. The same type of paint brush that comes with water color kits. You can get a bunch at the dollar store.
