Sorry but does anyone besides me think zodiac signs are complete rubbish?

I'm an "Aries" and so is my wife. I am artistic and poetic, very patient and passionate my wife is in no way creative and patient to a fault and avoids confrontation. I have yet to meet anyone who was like what their sign said they were. So is the zodiac all nonsense or am i missing some details and why are horoscopes so vague???

i used to think so until i actually started doing my own experiment. every time i would meet someone i would try to get to know them and from what i kinda know about astrology, i was usually always able to hit it on the head, but the usually was what made me doubt. then i started thinking, hmmm, what if im missing something, i started to do more studying and found that it matters what day, what time , where, what month, and what year. it matters. i dont know tons, but what i found out next surprised the hell out of me. i was able to fill in the little holes. i went to a web sight called www.astro.com . i click on ardientist when it gives you the list if sights to go to. then you go on the site. first go to personal profil. it will ask you if you have entered your info. say no. then it will give this screen and you enter all of the info it askes for. then it will give you a pretty detailed sample profile. and if you want you can get a huge profile for $. i havent done that yet. i want to. any way after you read yours go up to horoscopes. then click partner. it will then ask you to put in info for your partner. you will be surprised. yes i think it would be nice if they gave more detail but atleast this gives you an idea of what you can expect. its only the influences that make us take the paths we do. the nice thing is that we do have a choice to see the negative things about ourselves and change them for the better. e mail me at skysmama77.com and let me know if i have helped. its crazy but try to be open minded kay

your missing out on the details :) and there's a whole lot of it...

1] the rising-sign represents how you are viewed by the public, or the 'image' that you choose to portray to others . . .
2] it is once the initial stage wears off that your sun-sign[the person you stand for][your beliefs, the person who you truly are] starts to comes out. . . no matter what all the other planets tell you, it always falls back on the sun. . .
3] However, if you hold a very strong Moon-sign [which represents the core of your emotions] then perhaps that maybe the reason why you feel more artistic and poetic, unlike what you have read of the 'aries'. . . Leonardo Da Vinci was an aries, he was def. artistic himself . . . this was perhaps, he had his moon in Scorpio. . . [astro.com] that made him more indepth about the things/ issues he is concerned with . . .
4] your mecury represents your communication style. . .
5] all the other planets tells you more about how you handle your life/ how life would handle you. . .

hope that helps, and then there are also the 'Houses' that your planets are situated in, that should also be taken into account, as it is known to help tweak that part of your planet or sun[in this case] whatever it may lack/ be unskilled at... for eg; "if" your house in the sun is in the 12th house, which represents the sign of pisces, this may contribute to your sun-aries being more 'artistic' or 'poetic' or even 'patient' . . .

You're damn right horoscopes are vague, they only consider your birthday! There is some information you can get from a sun sign, though - and it doesn't always mean two signs are alike.
You see, since you're both Aries, your Mercury sign cannot be far off (Mercury is seen, from Earth, as being close by). Therefore, your Mercury signs must be Aries, or Taurus, or Pisces. Taurus is more likely if you're born towards the cusp of Taurus, and likewise for Pisces.
The same can be said for Venus: what you two enjoy doing can be very different: Venus is also close to the Sun from Earth's eye, however, it can vary by two signs max.
Next, your moon sign represents the mind. Depending on the phase of the moon when you're born, you're disposition can vary a great deal.
Lastly, the other planets don't matter as much. The further a planet is from the Sun, the lesser it's influence is felt by an individual.

Go make a birth chart at www.astro.com. You may have a different Ascendant sign, or you may have your moon and Ascendant in something else.

Example: My stepfather is a Pisces. Pisces are supposed to be sensitive, caring, emotional. He couldn't be further from a Pisces. When I looked at his chart, it all made sense. He has an Aries moon and an Aries Rising. That completely cancels out any trait of a Pisces that could exist. He's just like an Aries.

Sun sign horoscopes are notoriously vague. So many people look at them and assume that that is all that astrology is, and it truly isn't. You need to analyze your birth chart in order to find out how astrology works for you. Even if you look at your chart and you find out that maybe you've got an Aries Rising and an Aries moon, you could have some really nasty aspects to your sun sign that are negating the Aries traits.

I know. I bet this sounds like a whole bunch of hooey to you, and I understand that to many people astrology is crap. Astrology is a road map, where you COULD be headed, what you COULD be like. It shows potential, not absolution. I think that when people read their sun signs, if every single tiny damn detail doesn't describe them, then they blow it off to the wind as crap.

Give it a shot, and if it still doesn't strike you as true, then that's fine. At least you gave it a real shot :)

don't believe in "horoscopes", they are rubbish. although, astrology does give you some insight into your personality. astrology is not all about your sun sign, so if you act nothing like an aries and you are one, that could mean that maybe the moon was in pisces or something when you were born (pisces are artistic, etc.), and it had a greater influence on you. im not saying astrology tells you everything about you, because other factors made you who you are today, but there is more to astrology than just the sun sign, which is the detail you are missing. =]

I personally think they mean a lot....haven't you gone thru your day and at the end opened up the newspaper and read your horoscope and your hororscope read exactly as your day was? If you have notice that and still think its rubbish, then you have a very meaningless life. If not, I suggest you do that someday...you'll see. And they're not "vague". The words are suppose to be that way cause they have a very deep meaning....they may seem vague, but think of its meaning in your life!

1. northern hemisphere heavy chart (planets mostly at the bottom part) 2. naturally northern signs, 1-6. 3. quick dominant planets (see below) southern = collective. why? because scorpio ruled by pluto, sag jupiter, cap saturn, aqua uranus, pisces neptune... all slow planets. aries mars, gemini mercury, cancer moon, leo sun, virgo mercury... quick ones. aqua is not individualistic and opposite of that. go read any little description about aqua and you will see the words charitable, altruistic, tolerant and such. artificially different/wierd doesn't mean individualistic. cap, aqua, sag... these signs can't risk anything trying to look cool. you know the story of "the fool" right? well, southern signs just too rational to be a fool. they can't help and will think about consequences more than the present and how it feels like.

well maybe u should look into more than the sun sign and try the rising sign or moon sign or venus sign etc. I'm an aries and i'm introverted because my rising is in virgo. Looking at just your sun sign will only give u vague results...........and the horoscopes you will find in magazines are a bunch of crap anyway.

Astrology is merely entertainment. It is based on where the constellations USED TO BE in the time of the greeks. Furthermore, experiments have been done where everybody was given their "horoscope" and "personality traits", 99% agreed with it, and then they were told every "sign" was given the same one!

IF YOU THINK IT IS RUBBISH, WHY WOULD IT INTEREST YOU TO CHECK OUT THE HOROSCOPES SECTION OF ANSWERS? MAYBE ONE OR BOTH OF YOU WERE BORN ON THE CUSP OF 2 SIGNS. MEANING THAT YOU WERE BORN WITHIN 5 DAYS OF A SIGN CHANGING. THERE ARE ALSO A LOT OF OTHER FACTORS THAT CAN INFLUENCE YOUR PERSONALITY BESIDES JUST WHAT SIGN U WERE BORN UNDER. YOU SHOULD ALSO DO MORE "IN DEPTH" RESEARCH ON THE ARIES SIGN, YOU WILL BE SURPRISED AT HOW MANY OTHER CHARACTERISTICS DESCRIBE ARIES OTHER THAN THE ONES YOU KNOW AND HAVE HEARD OF. YOU WILL ALSO PROBABLY FIND THE TRAITS THEY ARE DESCRIBING SOUND AWFUL SIMILAR TO THE ONES YOU AND YOUR WIFE PORTRAY. DON'T FORGET TO ALSO RESEARCH THAT CUSP THING.
