Most will probably tell me NO, but I want your sources. I have seen them used inside the cabin on boats before. Is it Ok, to use if I have good ventilation and front to back cross breeze?

I've used one inside of my home. They used kerosene lamps all the time in the old days before electricity. If your worried about carbon dioxide, then crack a window near the lamp. I wouldn't leave it on all night, there could be a fire hazard here.

The main concern you should have is the fire hazard. Make sure the lantern is on a stable surface or securely hung where it won't catch other things on fire. The volume of air inside even a small house is enough that you shouldn't have to worry about oxygen deficiency. The dangerous gas is carbon monoxide, not carbon dioxide - CO gas is colorless and odorless and it can accumulate, so make sure you have some ventilation, although a single lantern won't generate much.

a hurricane lamp such as you are talking of does not use up a lot of oxygen neither does it emit so much CO2 as to be dangerous, even 3-4 lanterns will not be of concern... many times here in louisiana we have to use them for storms and hurricanes,, " before I got the big geneator"!!

Yes you can. Please be careful with fire. Keep the flame away from anything that will burn.
