There is no quick "sobering" technique...only time can reduce the level of alcohol in the blood. The rest of the remedies are myths.
Once you are intoxicated, the alcohol is already running throughout your system and can only be eliminated by burnoff. The caffiene in coffee only helps to stave off the sleepiness that sometimes accompanies the intoxication...it does not reduce the impairment caused by the alcohol.

Most of these so-called quick remedies do not work. It's absolutely untrue that coffee, bread, a shower, etc. help people to sober up (though they may help you to FEEL more alert, you are still drunk). The only solution, unfortunately, is time.

Nothing can make you sober up quickly. Alcohol has to work its way out of your system. If you drink coffee you will just be a wide awake drunk...

Drinking coffee is an urban legend. The most important thing is to drink a lot of liquids to purge your body of the alcohol which is in effect a poison in your blood stream.

Lots of NON-alcoholic (obviously) and DEcaffeinated fluids (caffein is a diuretic causing dehydration) and time is the only way to REALLY sober up.

Nothing will take the alcohol out of your system once it has reached the blood, only time. The best thing is to sleep

There is no quick way to recover from alcohol. It has to be metabolized, just like any other substance, like food, that you injest.
Drink lots of water. That will help lessen the concentration and keep you hydrated.
