A G.E. microwave is held fast by two bolts one on each side behind the plastic louvered vent at the top of the unit. Remove the small Philips head screws that hold the vent cover on and you will see the screws that hold the unit onto the wall. Remove the screws and the unit will tilt forward. It is best to have an extra pair of hands to control the tilting and lifting. Make sure the plug is pulled and the cord and plug can be pulled free of the hole in the cabinet.

There are 2 ways Microwaves are Mounted, 1) Two bolt ran into the frame of the microwave from the cabinet above it, remove those two screws, tilt the microwave forward lift and pull from space 2) also has 2 bolts in the top as in example 1, BUT on the left hand side of the vent on the face of the Microwave there's a rod with a hoop in the end of it, you will have to remove the two bolts, pull the rod, then tilt the microwave forward and lift then pull out of space, In EITHER of these applications you also have a backplate you will need to remove when you get the Microwave out.

its screwed. btw microwaves don't get heat. they furnish microwaves during the food which makes the water debris vibrate and that they bypass on the vibration to their surrounding debris which makes the food heat.
