I was just wondering if there is a movie about the child called it. If there is what is the name and where can I find it?

Yes I have read all the books I love them all, I want to learn all I can about child abuse so that is why i was wondering if there was a movie

I don't think it has been made into a movie, but it seems to me that I have seen a documentary about it. It was about 5 or 6 years ago, and I think it was on CBC (Canadian national TV). I cannot remember the name of it, but maybe this will jog someone's memory. There is a sequel to "A Child Called It" - the book "The Lost Boy" and Dave Pelzer then published a third book about his life as an adult - "A Man Called Dave". The three books were compiled into one book called "My Story" in 2002. I have read all three and as you no doubt know, they are quite powerful.

Are you talking about the book "A Child Called It" being made into a movie? It is a wonderfull book but some of the abuse might be to graphic for it to be made into a movie. The author is a true survivor and to think that he was able to forgive his mother for all the torture she put him through is amazing. I would sure like to meet him. I hear he is an inspirational speaker now. Have you read all his books about growing up? I don't believe it is a movie yet.

I'm a little confused I seen a trailer clip for a child called it on you tube said it was coming out in 2015 I can't find it anywhere even on amazon to purchase for some reason I don't think this movie made it out does anyone know why thanks

Nope there has never been a movie made, but there have been a couple of close ones on Lifetime. If you thought his books were interesting try the one by his brother. I can't remember the title but apparently after Dave was removed from the house his mother chose to torture the next son close to Dave's age.
There is also the story of Genie, which is also true. About a little girl in Southern California who was tied to a potty chair for years. Her mother was blind and sickly and the father was crazy. He kept her in that room until the mother found some courage and took her to the hospital (I think). She had all kinds of problems. She had to learn to walk and talk and feed herself. When she was rescued I believe she was 10. Gosh I should now the story by heart, several of my psychology classes have had to view the video and read the research.
Then of course there are all the books by Tory Hayden. I know more books because I had to read them for my Behavior Problems of young children class but I can't think of them right now.
