but there is a product called "goo-gone" no kidding
rub some on the spot - let it sit for a while, and scrape it off gently with an exacto blade.

A good old fashioned razor blade will do the trick....there is also this stuff called "Greased Lighting" cleaner that you can pick up from local Walgreens or CVS too...the razor is cheaper and will not do any damge either...just use the edge!!

Any volitile solvent you have around the house will do. My favorites and easiest to work with are WD40 and charcoal lighter fluid.

Acetone will probably shift it - AKA Nail varnish remover
Other solvents worth trying: turpentine, whit spirits, meths etc. Acetone would be my first choice though
