It is perfectly safe to look at the stars as long as you want; hours, days, years or even decades. Just don't try that with the Sun.

No, your eyes should be fine....... the only way you CAN hurt them looking up into the sky is by looking directly at the nearest Star to us.... The Sun.

No, the stars are so far away that the amount of energy that reaches your eyes is far too small to do any damage. Apparent brightness decreases in proportion to the distance squared.
