I'm looking for a book title about a young female protagonist who lives in a world where a virus (I think) wipes out all the adults in the world and leaves the children to fend for themselves. These children begin to form gangs of sort and try to build castles and empires in this empty world. They begin to turn on each other and such, like in battles for power. The young girl takes control of her area and begins to build fortifications at the school I think, building an army to defend against the other groups. A minor character that I remember is a person called the "King of Chicago," but was only mentioned a few times.I wish I had more details, but I read this book back in 6th Grade, so I wouldn't know. A book title or author name would be helpful, thanks again for your time!

while i turn into little I enjoyed the Worst Witch, The Magic far flung Tree, the Lion, the Witch and the cloth cabinet. i admire the %. interior the Little Prince. For artwork as an person I had to study some youngster's books which includes "i'm The Cheese" (very dazzling identify yet great e book).
