Not true. Charles is heir to the throne. There had been some talk of skipping him because he's not as popular as his sons, but that was mostly talk by people outside of Britain. I think most Brits who support the monarchy also support the rules of succession. That's what monarchy is about - following tradition. The only way Charles won't succeed will be if he takes himself out of contention and he made clear he has no intention of doing that when he first got the OK from the Church of England before he married Camilla. If the monarchy survives the death of Elizabeth II, then Charles almost certainly will follow as king.

While it is true that some people believe that Charles will never be king, he is the natural heir being next in line to wear the crown. He will probably be quite old, because Queen Elizabeth has shown no sign of stepping down, and he will most likely succede her upon her death. The only way William could become king would be for Charles to abdicate or die before the Queen. Alas, poor Harry could become king only upon the death of his grandmother, father and older brother.

The heir to the throne of England is Queen Elizabeth's son, Charles. In the event Charles abdicates the throne, his eldest son will become King of England. In the event that the eldest sone does not want to be King, he can abdicate to the youngest son.

There are people who believe that Charles will not choose to be King, even if he is alive when his mother, the Queen, dies. Charles seems to be a contented man, living his life as it is, with the woman he loves. He would be very happy to have his eldest son become King.

Queen Elizabeth's father, King George VI, became King upon the abdication of his brother, King Edward VIII. Elizabeth became Queen upon the death of her father. Had she chosen to abdicate to the next in line, we would have had Queen Margaret. Traditionally, the eldest male heir inherits the throne of England; but, there were no male heirs to George VI.

Not true. Queen Elizabeth's heir is her son, Prince Charles. If something should happen to Charles, if, say he were to die before her, then one of Charles' sons, namely Prince William, would be heir to the throne. But untill and unless something untoward happens to Prince Charles, he is the sole and legitimate heir to the throne.

What a lot of nonsense gets talked about this, by people who just make things up instead of finding them out.

When Elizabeth dies, Charles will be King if he is alive, and William will be next. These are not matters for anybody's judgment or choice; they are fixed, and only an explicit Act of Parliament could alter them. No such Act is expected.

As far as I know, Charles is an heir, his wife isn't. However, according to the Act of Settlement law, Charles should not become a King because he married a divorcee, however it looks like they aren't going to enforce that law. And if they don't enforce that law, than William and Harry should be able to marry nonProtestants and succeed.

Charles was to become king when his mom stepped down but then he divorced Diana. He was not suppose to remarry. When he married he married and did not do it in the church. William is the next heir to the thron and he could very well do it if the queen sees fit. Charles did everything that the royal prince was not suppose to do.
