when i watched batman (1989), i thought that after the joker falls to his death, does the poilice bring his body to Arkham Asylum and placed him in a morgue afterwards ?

actually contrary to popular belief the Jack Nicholson's joker survives the batman animated series with Kevin Conroy as batman was actually a spin off of the batman movie and in one of the episodes the doctor's of arkham refer to the joker as jack Napier who was not the actual name of the joke his name is unknown in the comic and that name was written in for the character for the movie

I thought Jack Nicholson was still alive. OTOH, I thought that the Joker in the movie was only paralyzed, allowing for a potential return as medical science improves enough to restore him to mobility (naturally, psychiatry won't improve enough in that time to restore him to sanity!)

simple answer: the joker has "died" many many times over the years, but he never stays dead
