It's polite to remove your hat, especially if the ceremony is held in a church.

My best man showed up at my hotel room the morning of my wedding wearing his best black cowboy hat and boots. He brought a bottle of Jack Daniels in a brown paper bag and said, "You'll need some of this." By the time we got to the wedding I wouldn't have minded if he wore a jockstrap and snowshoes. By the way, my wife and I just celebrated our fifteenth wedding anniversary. The important thing about weddings is to mellow out and go with the flow.

I am a pastor, have been one for over 29 years. I have had all kinds of wedding. Yes, people do all kinds of things in all kinds of ways. But I they ask me to marry them, then they need to know how I feel about things when they are asking me. Some pastors will do things that anybody will ask of them, no matter what, other pastors will set some limit as to what they will do or not do. I feel as a pastor, that a wedding is very much a worship time that takes place because we are asking God to be there and asking for His Blessings, so this is very much a worship time. Even if it is held outside, on the beach, or in side the church house. Any time we come into the of God, and we do so with all our hearts, when we bring ourselves to God we give Him total respect. The Bible, Gods Word, tells us that women should not uncover their heads, and that men should take off their coverings. So yes, I think that if we are inviting God, we should do what He himself has told us to do. A wedding is so loving and it helps to remember that it was God who started the wedding, In Gen: God, make woman from man, for man and He (walked) and gave the woman to Adam and Adam took the woman. This was the first wedding, how wonderful. There are wedding all through the Bible the Word of God show how God feels about some things, and He uses the wedding to show us a little of Himself. He Loves us all so much, John 3:16

That's a big negative.
The one exception is if it's your wedding. Then you can do what you want. Otherwise, leave the cowboy style at home.

Depends how well you know the Bride and/or Groom, and if it's a themed wedding or not. I would ask, just to be on the safe side.

Is you the groom or in the bridal party? If so, check with the bride. If in the audience, remove for others to view.
