After I had my first child my periods got incredibly heavy and stayed that way for quite a while. Until I had my second child 4 years later, in fact, after which they continued being heavy. They stayed heavy, but duration became a little shorter. If your doctor says it's okay it probably is. Worked out okay for me.

it took about a year after my son's birth to get back to "normal"....i would have periods twice a month sometimes..have one a few days, stop for two days, start again....crazy, crazy stuff. If all your test results are normal, I wouldn't worry too much...but you know your body. How heavy are we talking...just heavier than before....or like hemorrhage?

Your period should be returning to how it was before you had your baby. If you are nursing you would not be bleeding. Try to relax and your body will get itself back to normal. It's good that you went and saw your doctor. Congratulations on your baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
