If you already have the song you want then use Bluetooth (if you have it) and send an mp3 to your phone. Full songs are ok but i actually prefer to have the chorus or certain sections of a song as a tone so i make my own mp3 ringtones (also takes up much less memory on your phone than full mp3's). I downloaded a program called Audacity, it's a totally free program. Just open up any of your mp3 files with it and you can choose any part of the song you want as a tone, import it as mp3 and save to your pc, then transfer it to your phone with Bluetooth, and there you go, free mp3 tones that are much better than bought ones from websites, magazines etc.
If you don't have Bluetooth then upload it to a web server like Yahoo Geocities then just copy the URL of the file into the WAP browser on your phone and download it that way.

If your mobile accepts MP3's then why not make your own. I use MP3 maker titanium. Its a really good program, that lets you save in a low bit rate if required and then "Chop" the section out or whatever to make the tone you require.
