My Dr just told me my levels are too low and did an ultrasound, at about 5 or 6 weeks they only saw a sac but nothing really in it. They said it does not look too promising and to expect the worst. It is Friday and I have to wait until Monday to get more results. Anyone know anything about this?

I had the same thing happen to me with my son. I was around 5 weeks and they did a blood test because i was spotting and did an ultrasound, my levels were EXTREMELY low and my ultrasound showed nothing but the sac, with nothing inside. The doc and the ultrasound tech said didnt look good and that my diagnosis was a threatened miscarriage meaning a miscarriage is very well likely to happen. days went by still spotting and everything. a few weeks went by and they did another ultrasound and saw my baby and his healthy heartbeat with normal levels. It is normal for this to happen so dont worry too much right now. There is a chance of not carrying this baby either but listen to the posittive...dont give up it is still early, my baby boy is now 1 and healthy as can be. Doctors sometimes diagnosis us the wrong way...stress is terrible for your pregnancy. u are not cramping or bleeding so right now u are ok. Good luck and keep us posted..hope ur baby is ok.

About 24 to 28 days after the last menstrual period (LMP):

5–100 IU/L

4 to 5 weeks after the LMP:

50–500 IU/L

5 to 6 weeks after the LMP:

100–10,000 IU/L

Peak, 14 to 16 weeks after the LMP:

12,000–270,000 IU/L
