This should be a great time to visit San Diego. It's not the warmest time of the year...but winters are mild in San Diego and you can usually walk around and enjoy outdoor activities without a coat.
You can get some good deals on hotels in winter as well. I would recommend checking out the rates online and then calling hotels directly. Often, calling directly to the hotels gets the best deal. San Diego is great just about any time of the year. It does tend to get a bit rainy in Jan/Feb. The beach at Coronado Island is great. You HAVE to go there! Just take the Coronado Bridge over to the island. The sand has flecks of gold in it...so pretty! The water isn't too cold - just refreshing. And the jets from North Island fly right over your head - so close you can see the pilots! They're military jets. Have fun! Go to the zoo...it's the best - and Old Town, excellent food! ANd the Gas Lamp Quarter....oh I wish I was there!

Pretty much, anytime is a good time. SD has a very temperate climate, so it's an excellent escape from any part of the country. I.e., it's relatively warmer than most parts of the country in the winter, and cooler in the summer.
AND THERE'S NO HUMIDITY!
Everyone knows about how great California weather is. Most in California think SD has the best weather in the state.
One caveat: If you want to go to the beach, the summer is definitely better, because while the sand may be ok, but water will be freezing.

It is nice to stay in San Diego the whole year round. The weather is very nice. I had stayed there for 2 months. I had stayed in San Francisco which is too cold & too windy. I had stayed in El Centro which is feeling summer earlier than summer. LA is too congested! Alisso Viejo & Irvine has a weather quite similar to San Diego.

It is great in San Diego all the time. The summer is great as it is a bit cooler there then. There are a great deal of things to do there and depending on what your looking to do your sure to find it there.

There is no bad time to go to San Diego. Its beautiful year round & always something to do.

If you plan to spend time at the beach, go in the summer. If you plan to spend time OFF the beach, DONT go in the summer... it gets REALLY hot once you lose that sea breeze. But yeah... for anything non-beach related... now is a great time. The weather is always nice there.
