I understand it's used to explain money is wasted, but I don't understand the literal meaning of it... Can someone elaborate?

it means you have enough money that it doesn't matter how much the item costs, you are willing to pay any amount!

Yes it is probably wasted but money is no object would mean that someone had so much of it they would want to buy a piece of Rome and could not understand why someone would not sell it to them and then get in a right hissy fit sell their story to paper get some more money they don't know what to do with and buy a caribbean island that is for sale. Oh and they wouldn't give a £1 to the homeless beggar no profile you see better off having a charity ball with all your chums for a cause that looks good on your CV

Allan watts has a good speech about this .. It stands for that money is nothing importand

Allan watts - ask someone what would you like to do for a living if money were no object, most people say write books or music or be a painter but you can't make money that way.. You are better of doing Somthing you love doing then

Doing Somthing you don't like doing so you can earn money to spen half your life doing Somthing that you don't even like doing..

well people are limiting what they buy to keep everything affordable, the term money is no object means that they do not want money to be a factor in choosing what they want, they want the best quality of service/goods that hey can get regardless of the price.

It means that the person saying it wants whatever is for sale, and has enough money, that the price of the object is irrelevent.

It's means I don't care how much money something costs I want it because obtaining the object is more important than how much it costs.

Your explanation isn't quite accurate.

It does not mean money is wasted. It means that someone will purchase it at any price or build it etc.

It means the person does not care how much money will be spent. That money is not a consideration in making the decision.

LOL...Ask the one's who are in credit card debt right now. Obviously money was no object when they put themselves into debt....LOL.

Anyways, "money is no object" means just that, spend it like you have it on what ever your heart or mind desires. NO matter what the cost.

The object is what the person wants......career, car, home, education, job in another city, ......or what they want to get!

They will pay anything.......no amount of money is too much when money is no object.
