Why do you care? I see nothing wrong with it at all. Most of the people I work with have a PhD, and I know they worked their butts off to get it. Why shouldn't they use their credentials? And why does his PhD "win an argument"? If your beliefs are solid, it shouldn't matter what anyone else says - PhD or no PhD.

Sometimes, PhD stands for Piled Higher & Deeper.

I find it incredibly sad! PhD's cover a very specific part of research and having completed one means that you are an expert in that particular field only. Unless the argument centered on that subject I don't see why any reference to one's PhD should be made. I am not impressed by PhDs! Sure, they are hard work but there are other things that require hard, or even harder, work that we should be proud of as well like a great family or a fantastic love-life.

I didn't realize I was winning the arguments, simply stating my view point on the situation. But I do have a good source for what I've just said, and that is...

Some people spew their credentials for the same reason they drive a Hummer - they have a very small penis.

I think I detect some jealousy here. Or maybe some reverse discrimination.
