His name was William Bonny. There are some great pictures of him, that people really know are him.

And it is very well believed that he lived to a ripe old age, even up to almost present day. At least 1960

Henry McCarty (November 23, 1859[1] – July 14, 1881) better known as Billy the Kid, but also known by the aliases Henry Antrim and William Harrison Bonney, was a 19th century American frontier outlaw and gunmen who was a participant in the Lincoln County War. He was born in New York, but went out to New Mexico.
