Graham Gooch at Edgbaston 1975. http://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Scorecards/35/35353.html is the scorecard.

Only four Englishmen have scored a "pair" on Test debut - Fred Grace, "Big Jim" Smith, Gooch and Gavin Hamilton.

In response to Vakayil's comment below :

>> Only 3 England Captains have the record of two ducks in a Test. They are I.T. Botham, G.A. Gooch and Nasser Hussain,

Gooch never scored a pair while he was the captain. Botham and Hussain are the only English captains to do that. (The list of English captains who scored a pair while they were not leading the side must be much longer - for instance, Atherton scored one against South Africa in 1999-00 while playing under Hussain).

Mark Taylor, Rashid Latif and Habibul Bashar are the only three who scored a pair in their first match as captain.

To the best of my knowledge and as per available records, no England Captain scored two ducks in his test debut as Captain.

Only 3 England Captains have the record of two ducks in a Test. They are I.T. Botham, G.A. Gooch and Nasser Hussain,

Among the above 3 Captains, G.A. Gooch is the only Captain who scored 2 ducks in his test debut (Not debut as Captain)
His Test Debut was the 1st Test of Ashes Series 1975 played at Edgbaston, Birmingham from 10th to 14th July, 1975 in which he scored 0 in both the innings..
