I know that he is still playing hurt. But the way he's playing, do you think they became deeper because the offense is now scattered and not solely on his shoulders?

The Lakers are definitely a better TEAM because of his reduced avg shots per game. I believe the TEAM is better because of his, Kwame and Chris Mihms early season injuries. It has given TEAM members like Andrew Bynum, Vladimir Radmanovic, Ronny Turiaf, Luke Walton, Jordan Farmar, Smush Parker, Maurice Evans, and the sometimes under appreciated Lamar Odom to gain confidence in their respective games. The true test for the Lakers is when Kobe is at 100% can the TEAM exist with Kobe?? If they can.........can you say Dark horse from the west???

I don't understand how people have such irrational opinions on Kobe's scoring output and how it effects winning. Jordan won six rings averaging 30-33ppg. One season he won 72 Games which is the record. The Lakers will go nowhere if Kobe's not the leading scorer in the NBA. What needs to happen is Kobe needs to average 30-33ppg which is less than 35.4ppg and Llamar Odom needs to step up at the same time and average over 20. This can't be a stituation where if Kobe's dropping 30 then everyone else is bitter and doesn't play hard because then it will never work. Kobe needs 30-33, Llamar needs 20-22, Radmonovic needs to shoot well, and Walton and others need to step up even if Kobe is playing dominant.

The Lakers are a more balanced team and now they have the confidence that they can win with or without kobe taking 20 shots again. And Lamar Odom is not coming of age.

It has been proven year in and year out that the Lakers cant win without Kobe, and they struggle to win when he tries to make it a one man show. Kobe needs to continue not putting up 30 shots a game and the Lakers will actually make a run in the playoffs and be the best team in LA again.

no. the lakers suck even more with kobe on the floor because they do not have the chemistry they once had when kobe was injured. but this is just my opinion and many would want to debate about this.

I think that it is part injury and part maturity. Last season he proved that he is sharing the ball. And he has great team mates that are stepping up alot.i think that they will be great this season. And if not this season, the next, it will give them more time together. They are a pretty newly put together team.
