As I near retirement, I'd like to start a small business that would give me a lot of pleasure rather than a lot of headaches. Any ideas that sound like fun? I'm not looking to make a million dollars... I'm looking for something to be enjoyable in my golden years and moderately profitable. Enjoyment to me means more than money. Thanks to all who contribute.

What types of things do you like to do? Accounting/paperwork? Gardening? Woodworking? Any hobbies?

The best type of business will be in an area you know and like to do. If you can pick a general area, then maybe you can narrow in on a niche for your business.

Recognize that running a business almost inevitably means some level of headaches.

Good luck.... and have fun.
