White people: turn blue when cold, green when sick, red when embarrased or mad, purple when they can't breath, pale white when they are dead. So why do they call black people colored, when we stay the same color no matter what???

In know you are trying to be funny but I take serious offense to this. I have never been mean to a black person or any other person in my life. I am all of there colours.

BB King said that he felt "blue" when he was sad. As did Ray Charles. Are they white too? Please...

Peace.

Not true, I've been so cold as to turn blue and been sick enough to turn green. Oh yeah My cheeks flush when I'm embarrassed.

Don't make the same mistake others do by parroting their habits of generalization

All people are colored

Why do black people call themselves black when they are really a dark brown or light brown or almost white or partially yellow looking? Why do all people complain about sunburn? Being politically correct is a misnomer when talking about people. Black is all colors combined. White is the absence of color.

Interesting question but pointless. It really all depends on a person's shade. There are black people who are dark chocolate, pecan tan,caramel,red-bone...and last but not least(and one most used as a derrogatory word for biracial or very light-skinned)high yellow. For whites pink, beige, tan,"you could pass for whatever".......We are all colored in our own ways but,the more flavor the better.

True! I have seen black people blush though. And if I hear someone call an african american "colored" it is followed closely by a smack to the head.

That's true... I'm not actually white. i'm sorta pink. But I've never called a black person "colored". that's just not a word from my particular era. Maybe my gramma would have said that, I don't know.

Hey girlfriend that is twice in one day for this one. I thought calling Blacks coloured went out in the 60's. Now it is Black or Afro-Americans.

That's clever, but I don't think I've ever heard the word "colored" except in movies.

I've heard that one before! It's pretty funny, but someone w/o a sense of humor might get offended or embarrassed
