Why do I have white discharge everyday? It smells bad too. Kinda like tuna, kinda like wet dog! Gross!

While clear or white vaginal discharge is normal, white discharge with a fishy smell is not. Vaginal discharge should either have no odour or else a faint fleshy odour.

Most likely, you have bacterial vaginosis, which is caused by an overgrowth of the bacteria in your vagina. Bacterial vaginosis comes with a fishy odour.

The other possibility is a yeast infection-yeast infections come with white, curdy (think cottage cheese) like discharge and a musty, yeasty smell.

You'll need to see your family doctor or Gyn to get treatment. If it is vaginosis, you'll need antibiotics to treat the infection. If it's a yeast infection, they can prescribe an anti-fungal as well as the over the counter yeast infection treatments. If it is a yeast infection, you'll know what to look for next time and will be able to self-treat. Because you aren't sure what the problem is, don't self-treat; go to your doctor to be sure.

The link below has information on how to reduce your risk of getting BV/yeast infections again.

If it's itchy or red or inflamed down there it could be the signs of the beginning of a yeast infection, in that case just run up to your local walgreens or osco drug and buy an over the counter remedy like vagisil. It'll itch like a mother till it goes away though.

Since the vagina is self cleaning it's normal for us to get ocassional (but not excessive) discharge. It could also be from sweating.

Normally discharge is normal, but it should be odorless. The smell indicates that there is possibly bacteria or other germs present. I think you should get checked out.
