Years ago I saw a movie with one of Loyde Bridges' sons in it. Not sure what the sons name was. It was about a diner (in a small town) and something happened with aliens. But it wasn't a scary movie and I think it was set around Christmas time. Does anyone know the name of that movie.

The other posts are correct. It was "Starman" with Jeff Bridges and Karen Allen. Jeff Bridges' character was an alien (friendly) and he and karen allen stopped at a diner to have lunch (he really liked the pie if i remember correctly). At the end of the movie, Karen Allen's character becomes pregnant with Jeff Bridges' character's baby.
Anyway, they ended up making a television show about it starring Robert Hays (from Airplane fame). Hays played the role that Bridges had played in the movie. I don't remember who played his son, but the show was about the two of them helping people and using their powers occassionally (it didn't last too long)
