The two numbers are 10 and 4. 10 is 6 more than 4; 10 times 3 is 30; 30 plus 4 equals 34. :)

Right 4 and 10

X is the first number and ( X +6 ) is the larger number.

So X + 3(X+6)=34
X+ 3X +18 = 34
4X +18=34
4X +18 -18 = 34 -18
4X = 16
4X/4 = 16/4=4

X=4 So X +6 is 10.

x = 6 + y

y is the smaller number, x is the larger

so,

y + 3x = 34

So we have 2 equations and 2 variables... now we just add them together:

x - y = 6
3x + y = 34

4x = 40
x = 10

since x is 6 more than y, y = 10 - 6 = 4

Hope this helps!
