It's legal.

Allowing people to download from you (uploading) is illegal.

If it's not then it should be because you're ripping off the artist who made the music and denying the artist the money for that song you are downloading. If I were an artist and found that you were downloading my music I'd call you a lowdown goatsmelling bottleneck buzzardfart breath smelling tootie fruitee........

It IS illegal, so it doesn't matter what I think. It's illegal because it takes money from the big, rich music labels.

I think it is on some sites. But a better question to ask would " is it ethical to download music on some sites that you do not have to pay to download"?

It is already illegal. You're ripping it off. If you pay for it then it is legal.

If you are paying for it, it is legal. However, if you are not paying for it, you are infringing Copyright laws-
