Well i don't work at a mcdonalds but i work at a burger king it's the same thing. i would say no. if it's your first job then it is a good place to start working. Other than that it is really stressful. The burger king that i work at are always understaffed, they never have enough people working, you also have to deal with rude and impatient customers, your uniform wiill always smell like oil and grease and hamburgers gross!.everyday.And sometimes you have to deal with annoying co- workers,i do. It's also hard to work in a fast food place if u go to school fulltime like i do or have a 2nd or 3rd job. and u also have to work with managers that are rude and annoying sometimes and try to work u fast and hard.I do everything i work the register and in the kitchen. But hey these are my experiences, if u want to work at mcd's then go ahead. I wish u alot of good luck!I will say it is a good place to start. how would u know what it is like if u never tried? Right? It doesnt pay much but when u make 2 or 3 hundred dallors it doesnt hurt, money is money. it doesnt hurt when u want to make a few extra bucks!.

If you really need employment, then by all means, get whatever you can. But please try to have a realistic exit route set up, as I've heard so many stories about that particular restaurant being mean to the employees, working them too hard, and them being treated like crap by the customers.
I'd suggest being a server at a sit-down restaurant if you really wanted to work in a restaurant. Plus, if you want to keep working in that area, the experience you'll get will more easily aply to other places (i.e., being a server at one place will help you get another serving job). And the money in tips will be better than the min. wage at McDonald's.
I'd have to really push you to just get a job that's more connected to what you wanted to do in the future, though, if it's at all possible. Simply because, well, everything adds up to an end goal, and if there's something you can do that's still bringing home money and is making things easier for you in the long run...by all means, do that!
Take care, and good luck.

I worked there for three days in 1988. I had a roommate who interferred with my sleep and so it became harder to make the 5:30 am shift time. I really LOVED making the biscuits and was considered the best biscuits maker they'd ever had (the lady who was there and continued to be there after I quit, refused to follow McDonald's own instructions and her biscuits came out like hockey pucks. Seriously!). But then, in retrospect, I should have talked to the boss about changing my hours to a shift later in the day.

Haven't worked at McDonald's, but I have worked fast food. It's okay for a first job, but it is going to be a lot of stress for little pay (although from what I've heard, McD's pays better than most food places). Also, I've worked with people who've worked there, and I think it sucked a small part of their soul out--the bit that lets you be free and happy.

I wouldn't recommend it. I haven't worked for McDonald's, but I did work for In n' Out Burger just out of High School. It sucked, you smell like fast food all day and your skin feels greasy, plus they want me too be much politer to the customer than I want to be.

Depends... If your new to the work world it's a good start. They have good training and provide meals and uniforms. It was my first "real" job and honestly some of the things I learned are still with me.Mostly stuff relating to being a team player and working together! I also was very shy ... waiting on customers made me more confident in myself at that time. I also made a few friends.

I've never worked at Mcdonalds but I would never tell someone not to become employed! Job experience no matter where it comes from can help you in the long run!

Never worked there...but you wont know until you try it. I'm sure you're always busy so that might make the time fly by.
For me, the only bad side would be smelling the fries everyday...I think I'd always want to buy/eat some...their fries are sooooo good!

Well if you want to work to only make a few bucks, then go for it. Personally I would rather work somewhere would give me a future. Somewhere that will help me with my future career. I.e. an internship at a doctor's office if you wanted to be a doctor, etc.

Not suggested. a relative of mine worked there in her younger years and hated it! people were rude, impatient, and downright unpleasent. it gives about minimum wage. it SHOULD be a last resort job. if one has to work there, go earn some money, but trust me, it truely is not worth it. and think about this, smelling greasy, nasty food all day? that does not sound like fun. you should be able to enjoy your job, and not because it brings home food and money.
