if you rotate your tires at the recommended mileage and you have some uneven wear then you need an alignment. Uneven wear is not normal for properly rotated tires at the correct mileage interval. Make sure if you take your car to a repair shop to rotate the tires that you mark the tires with an ink pen to make sure the dead heads rotate them correctly. I have been using kauffman tire and ntb and at both locations i have caught them on mis- placing the tires. and they have argued about it with me until i pointed out the marks

just because you removed a tire you don't need a wheel alignment. If your tires are wearing uneven or on one side and not the other side of the tire or your car pulls to the right or left when you leave go of the steering wheel while going down the road then you know you need an alignment.

You generally don't need an alignment unless you replaced front end parts or hit something with your front wheels real hard.

No you dont need a alignment if you change any tyres .. but if the tyre shop offers a cheap alignment take it, cheap maintaince, also keep your tyre pressures at correct inflation, this will give better life for tyres and better handling
