What kind of weapons would be good to include in a video game?
we are making one, and what to see what guns everyone likes.

I like the guns of RE4. As for melee, how about staves, spears, sai, katana (or other sword, usually the bigger the better for video games) Don't forget whips, chains, and surprise weapons that might be stashed around but not available all the time.
Projectile weapons also for distance fighting. Bow & arrows, stars, etc...

I have recently been researching unusual weapons and came across the Urumi. It is a flexible sword that can be worn as a belt to conceal it. It is used in Indian martial arts and is every efficient when one has to fight multiple opponents.

For the lady villian, dress her up really seductive and professional and have her primary weapon as stiletto with a killer heel....
