Any help would be much appreciated. The car has been driven for 3 hrs - normally I just drive locally. It won't accelerate no matter how much you step on the accelerator. It won't go above 40 or up hills. Can anyone give me some advice? thanks!

If you are talking about the old Fiat Brava that was produce some years ago, then sounds like the accelerator pump in the carburetor is dried out and not working anymore. Either that or the fuel system itse'f is partially clogged. Since I am in the U.S. I am not currently up on the current Fiat models in Europe, so if this is a newer fuel injected model of some sort then disregard my post. :-) If not then the rubber on the accelerator pump on the old carbs dries out and when you "stomp" on the gas to accelerate it will fail to give that extra "squirt" of gas that gets the car moving faster. Just my first guess. You can actually check this yourself by removing the air cleaner and looking down into the carb with the choke open and watching the stream of gas squirt as somebody either steps on the gas (engine turned off) or you manuall do it from under the hood. If no stream of gas on the carburetor then you have probably found your problem.

With it's light weight and size, I would suggest pushing it, or put a sail on top.

Seriously, try a tune up and don't run A.C. when going up a hill.

please dont take offense but fiats suck ***, they dont have any HP or torque. That is why they dont pick up, and it also might be that the fuel injector is clogged.
