There are many variables to that scenario, Is the batter right or left handed, how good of a hitter or bunt er is he, who's pitching. Those are just a few things to think about and why they talk at the mound before if they are suspecting a bunt, how many outs , what's the score are other things to think about. The common rule is the shortstop who will run to third along with the runner on second. another and next option is the third baseman just staying put and the pitcher Fields and throws to third. The least likely to happen is the pitcher covering third. Hope this helps.

The third baseman remains in place, letting either the pitcher or the catcher field the ball.
Tommy would be wiser to do a drag bunt down the first base line and allow himself to be put out, advancing the runners

Usually it would be the shortstop, but if there is a left handed pitcher, especially one that falls off the mound towards the 3rd base line, you can catch Jimmy off guard at 2nd base and keep the 3rd baseman at 3rd.

Haha it would've been simpler to just type 'first base second base' on the search for question toolbar, but whatever. First Base: Kissing Second Base: Getting 'touchy' [aka, guy feeling a girl up or girl getting felt up] Third Base: It's been debated for whether it is oral sex, or handjobs. I personally think its oral, but opinions differ. Homerun: All the way. SEX!

The shortstop.
The left fielder will come in and back up the shortstop at third. The center fielder will back up second. The right fielder will back up first.
