First, learn to use a calculator. Being able to use a calculator quickly and easily is an important skill. But you also want to be able to do simple math in your head.
To do in your head, try to group the numbers in a meaningful way. I would look at the first 2 numbers and instantly think "60" and look at the next 2 numbers and think "-5" and then the answer just naturally comes: "55"

3-8 is negitive 5
so you would take the 60 and take away the negitive 5
60- -5 which would be 60+5 because two negitives make a positive. Its all order of operations, right to left!
