I don't think your parents would laugh at you I think they would be behind 100% of the way if that's what you want to do.. No I don't know what the cost would be.. I would tell my mom and dad that's what you want to do they might not approve of it now but if you show them thatts what you really want to do I think they would let you..
Well good luck,

You can't act, until you have taken acting classes for 10 or 12 years. Acting is hard work. Join the Drama Department at your school. When you have taken a lot of acting classes, see if you still like it. You can't just "be on the Disney Channle." The actors you see on Disney or PROFESSIONALS. They studied acting since they were 5 years old! How long have you studied acting?
You can start by reading as many plays as you can. When I was 12 years old I ordered scripts from the Samuel French Company. I was excited each time the mailman delivered them. I read and read and read, I imagined the costumes, the sets, the cast . . . my whole world was theatre, as must yours be, if you want to be an actor.

I know EXACTLY how you feel! I have wanted to be an actress on Disney for a long time! I live in a small-town, I don't a lot of money. Go to www.castingauditions.com to see auditions in your area. When Ashley Tisdale was little her friends said she would never make it to Hollywood. Look at her now, hit TV show, movies, music videos! Get involved in Local Theatre when you start looking for an agent all the experience helps. After you get that extra expirience take a recent picture of yourself and staple it to a piece of paper then on that peice of paper write all your info (height, wieght, hair and eye color, address, phone number, and special talents, stuff like skateboarding and juggling.) Seng that paper and picture to a talent agent. I got all this info from searches on google and yahoo try it!
Hope that Helps!

So true. Especially G Hannelius, in one scene in DWAB where Avery was supposed to cry, she didn't even cry. And people claim that Kristen Stewart can't act... first check out disney's new crappy sitcoms

so go and prove it to them. My parents didn't know i could act until i got the main part in the play! if you are really good then audition for a play or musical. do this for a lot of plays. once you keep getting in the performances then bring up the subject to them. this way they can't say that you cant act you just got a part or even a lead. good luck/. remember it's your parents not walt disney hiumself!!(hes dead) LOL

well first you should get in a play in school. (i hope you know this is a huge commitment and it is going to take a long long time to get on disey channel) then take some acting lessons...get experience. (this is roughly what you have to do but most definantly not all) then eventually you will need to get headshots find an agent (and if an agent asks for money upfront they are fake they get 10-20% of what you get paid through your gigs) all that good stuff...to get real details on what you need to do go get the book called ACT NOW! it tells you all you need to know

Convince them to take you into acting classes and when you feel that you are ready start sending pictures and resumes to acting companies and agents.Don't take it too fast because being in the industry is hard and may be a slow process.

they haven't seen you act before? have you been to a talent show...and school play, recite lines of your favorite movies? slow down on the big part of the scene and get real, try and get into the school of performing arts and then, they won't laugh if you pass!
