On the one hand, I would disagree with the idea of luck if it's supposed to be a kind of fate- in other words there's no magic that will watch over you and keep you safer than anyone else. It's true that with hard work and practice, you can make your own luck however- you just become stronger, and more able to live your life in a positive manner- like the champion golfer who said 'the more I practice, the luckier I get'. A positive attitude can also help make luck- I mean, if all you see in the world is sadness and misery, you may feel you are unlucky, but it's also part of the way you are dealing with the world. If you can appreciate the small things in life, you may feel lucky when someone in the exact same situation feels he has no luck.

Then there's the random element to life... maybe you win the lottery, or maybe you survive a major car crash without a scratch, or maybe the falling rock misses you by inches... the dice rolls six for you five times in a row. A random element that nothing can control works out in your favour, that's the purest form of luck... the sad thing is, without a positive attitude you may never appreciate how lucky you really are ;)

luck is a unbelievable experience, it depends on which level you attribute to, either good or bad or a mix of each. I can imagine that someone somewhere who has a long history of madness, gentile to all, yet their psychosis, which may of been endured for many years or still current , if luck was bestowed on such a person as in monetary luck to enhance their quality of life and others around greatly, i know luck is good yet can be hard, also until you comprehend luck in any state that is when you you can decide if there is such a thing as luck

No. At least not in a real sense. The universe does not contain any luck.
Luck is real but only in the mindset of human beings. They create coincidence and tie it to "luck". They also compare beneficial events to "being lucky".
There is no such thing as luck as luck suggests a real force causing certain events to happen, and there is no such force.

of course there is. what else is would you call such a thing that happens when things go extremely right. but just the chance of something going only a little right has a slim to none chance.

It is just chance, that it is what it really is. but to specify what kinda of chance it is. when things go good it is a chance of luck, and when things go bad that is a chance of OH... ****.

Yes, I have a friend who worked really hard and saved a lot of money to start a restaurant nearby WTC just before 9/11 occurred. A few weeks after his grand opening, 9/11 occurred and his restaurant plus all of his savings were wiped out. There was no way he could've researched or predicted that.

Urm, no! But there is something called 'Probability Judgement' and people who are poor at PJ tasks will believe more in 'luck'. Your reasoning abilities and 'locus of control' (internal or external) also play a part as to whether you believe in 'luck' or not. Studies have shown that people with an external locus of control and poor reasoning abilities are more likely to believe in 'luck' and attribute 'luck', good or bad, to performance and events. 'Luck' is a term made up by those with poor probability judgement to describe a situation where somebody has a series of good or bad events and the attributions are seen as happening 'outside of chance'. People who believe in 'luck' are usually those with poor Probability Judgment skills.

I don't think luck exists. Luck is a word that the unsuccessful attatch to something they can not do. Isn't it funny how the rich or the successful are always so lucky!?
Luck is really WORK. But what happens is someone attempts something, and fails, they allow that to bring about disbelief, and they say it can't be done, so anyone who does it is just "LUCKY."

well yes, its all to do with frame of mind. Have you heard of the saying ' if you smile the world will smile with you' well neither have I , i actually think thats from a song. But anyway the point is if you relax and don't look to hard for what you want, what you want will come to you. Some people try too hard and just keep failing. But theres a balance i think.
