is there any users that use a nvidia ge-force 6200(256mb) as i bought a 256mb model the other week and i am very impressed with a graphic card costing £45 with these specs...pixel and shader model 3.0...256mb memory.....
also i played doom3 and quake4 using fraps(gives frames per second) and using the card you can get 55-70 f.p.s on 1024x768 and high quality settings, this is plenty high enough to give you a good gaming experience
so why pay £300 for a pci-e card which will only give you a extra 40 f.p.s and you probally wont notice
the money i saved with this card i spent on extra system memory and a rear chassis fan to aid ventelation as the card only uses a heatsink
any users use this card, any feedback would be great
thanks

Try running that game on that card with antialiasing and anisotropic filtering enabled. You'll notice why people opt for the more expensive cards. Besides, the improvement from 1024x768 to 1280x1024 is amazing. To make any game look better, higher resolutions and eye candy have to be turned on. That is something the 6200 just can't do. I bought ATI's flagship X1800XT 512MB when it first came out about a year ago. I can run Doom 3 with every setting at its maximum, including AA and AF, and have 130 FPS. (To find out what your card is capable of, run the Doom 3 timedemo at your selected settings--push ctrl+alt+~ and type 'timedemo demo1 precache' without quotes, followed by enter) 130FPS is far above what you really need to play the game, but I have headroom. I can still play any game maxed out and still run at playable FPS. It's all about how long you want your hardware to last, and about bragging rights. :)
