If there is animosity between you and the children's parents, do everything you can to keep the youngsters from getting involved in it.

Remember that grandparent visitation rights are not intended or designed to supersede parental authority. Grandparents should step in only when there is a threat to the children's safety. If there is evidence that the children are being physically or emotionally abused, contact the department of social services for the protection of minor children in the state where your children live.
Be aware, too, that the law applying to your visitation rights is the law in the state where the grandchildren live.
Go on line and search for grandndparents rights in "name of state"
Please search your soul and make sure you are doing the right thing. Kids can get hurt and if you hurt them they may never forget.

as a grandparent, you have the right to buy toys and presents for the grands, and to see them when your kids let you. And if your kids are found unfit parents due to drugs or mental issues, you may have the right to take the kids in and raise them, It depends entirely on the situation. Anything else, you have to go to court for.

You should have a right to see your Grandchildren I hope you are not trying to hurt your own child or your son/daughter in law, because that will hurt the grandchild as well. If the parents are both dead or in jail then you need a lawyer, you do have rights.

A lawyer may be a good start. And frequently you can get books at your local library that can offer insight on your rights.

If it's about family trouble, please talk to your kids. Just say sorry for anything that may have happened for the sake of the grand kids. Even of you don't mean it.
