Couldn't tell you if the popular girls are really your friend but that has nothing to do with your original question... Why can't people from other races be friends? It's a great way to learn about people who are different than you.

Edit: Hun, don't feel bad. You're 10 and you're learning. It's better to ask questions then spend the rest of your life not knowing. Good for you for asking, honestly.

Yes, There are lots of people that might think different. There is
no reason in this world why anyone from a different Ethnicity
shouldn't hang around together. People can learn from one an others culture. When I was growing up back in the 1960, in
West Los Angele's and the people I grew up with were Mexican/
American, White, Chinese, African/American, Japanese. Although in our Elementary school didn't have lots of other Ethnicity, There were only a few African/Americans family,
a few Chinese family. But we as humans didn't even think
about Ethnicity, we made Friends and that was that. When we
moved to Culver City, CA. it was different we were surrounded
by Mexican/Americans and African/Americans and some Asians.
We again lived like we were all one Ethnicity and we didn't have a problem. But when I moved to Fresno it was different they
told me to watch out for racist people, more some coming from
Clovis which made me think twice about going there. But I chose
to be whom I really am, which I am myself and I believe we
shouldn't act on race or color of your skin. It's the personality
and humor, even getting the respect from others as we should
give others, but as we all know there are ignorant people whom
think that every Ethnicity should stick to its own kind. That is the kind of people you don't want to hang around with and yes it can be real friends. So if you find a friend then go for the gusto, whom
ever makes you comfortable, that right there shows you who your friends really are.

There is no reason why people of different races and cultures cannot be friends. The trick is being respectful of differences and accepting that there will be things that are just different. When someone offends you, think before you react and try to tell if they meant to do so, or if they just didn't realize that something they did or said was going to be painful for you. If everyone can keep that attitude, then things will go fairly smoothly.

As for the girls at your school, I don't know the situation so I can't comment.

Good luck!

to be honest with you most of the "popular" girls in high school turn out to be airheads. talk about stereotypes. most of them tend to be shallow and only care about themselves. now im not saying theyre all like that but the majority are. just look out for your self and give them a chance if you feel they deserve it and you dont feel they are using you for something they want or need.
i really do think that people should have friends from different races, that is the best way of learning diversity and the differences in our cultures. it also helps fight ignorance which is appearing more and more everyday. good luck with those girls

Yes, it shouldn't matter what the race of the person, a friend is a friend. You have the opportunity to explore other lifestyles and you should be enjoying all people not limiting yourself to one race. What makes you think they're not being real? Explore your own doubts to have the true answer to your question. What's happened to you to think someone from another race is insincere.

You have asked 2 totally different questions here... the first one i say yes absolutely, people from all different races should be friends. As for the second question you haven't given enough information to give you any advice.

Of course. You should judge whether you want to be friends with someone or not based on how much the two of you have in common, similar beliefs, how much fun you have together, etc. To not be friends with someone just because they look different than you not only keeps you from making some great friends, but really, really damages the self esteem of the people who were alienated.

FIRST OF ALL, sweet pea....there is no such thing as a STUPID QUESTION! Don't ever think that. Second of all, I feel you should befriend any human being possible. There is no difference what race they are, a friend is a friend. It is always possible that kids your age can be cruel, so be careful and be sure your friends are true to you. You are a unique individual, and no one can ever tell you who you should be friends with.

It depends. Do you want be racist or not?
My opinion is, I have tons of friends with different race. I don't understand why people are racist. Who cares if they are from a different country, we all came from the same place! I'm chinese, and I know when people are racist even though they won't admit it. Who cares if they are popular, if you don't like them, it isn't racist.

a friendship shouldnt have anything to do w/ the color of someone's skin. Its what a person has on the inside that really counts. These "popular" girls at school, probably do truely like you.
