Till I went to the Vietnam War, I was pretty unimpressed with violence. That little trip really opened my eyes. You'd be suprised what you can accept as "normal" after you see death & destruction on that scale. You tend to view violence as a tool to get what you want & don't hesitate to use this tool. When most people say, "I'll kill you", they have no idea what they're saying & really should think twice about saying it, because the person you're saying it to just might have a more realistic definition of what that threat means & act on it before you do.

Well, I think there's a basic animal in us all: kill or be killed. Just instincts, but some people are able to cover it up better than others, and in some people it shines through. As for me, I despise violence at times, but I still can't get some gruesome images out of my head... I just read a bunch of Stephen King books and I loved them! I'm able to accept myself, but I still don't like hurting folks...
For me, it's just a fascination with how the body works... :-)

You asked a really good question.
I know for me it's not my first response and I have to think about it but hEll yes there's some people..... I'd like to rip them "limb from limb" as the saying goes...... and then I'd get _mean_!!!
I like to see people get what's coming to them IRL but will also settle for seeing a movie villan get what's coming to them in a movie.
I wish more people IRL would get what they deserve and faster!!
But I don't like blood and guts as "entertainment". I wouldn't pay to see Saddham hang (for example) and I don't enjoy gorey news stories. I've seen too much of it IRL years ago.

=I think that if you had been the victim of a violent crime or you had witnessed a violent act you would change your mind and feelings. To watch another real life human being screaming and crying out in pain and being helpless in real life is quite a bit different than what you see on television.

I'm a pacifist. I don't love it deep down or at the surface. Peace is much better. And I think peace is really our normal state. Violence just creeps in.

I don't necessarily think that we all 'love' it. I do however agree that everyone is more than capable of violent behavior. It all comes down to how we choose to deal with our emotions & the decisions we make about boundaries.
