This has happend recently, but everytime I turn the volume up and down, it crackles and gives a raspy and crakcling noise, and the sound quality is'nt as good anymore. I know I did'nt blow them because I don't blast the speakers.

I agree your volume control potentiometer is dirty. RadioShack sells a cleaner for this. Or you can just do the old tried and true method. Move your volume control switch back and forth repeatedly until the crackling goes away. But this is only a temporary fix.

Other than blown speakers or having the volume too high, check for a bad driver (re-install your sound driver). Also if you laptop speakers have their own volume control, make sure that the system volume isn't at max.

If it only crackles when adjusting the volume it's just dirt under the knob. If it pops when being unplugged or powered off, it's a short somewhere.

Hi. Sounds like a dirty volume control. There are special cleaners that would clean the control. Just do a search.
