Why do people where underwear beneath speedos and jammers?

i do not where underwear beneath my jammer when i do competive swimming and swimming laps. a lot of people do and i do not understand why people would and doesnt it get anoyying?

I wear a racing brief under my jammer because it makes the jammer easier to get on and off, especially during a deck change. And some jammers work best when they go into the water dry so some people warm up in a brief and then just throw on a dry jammer for race time.

because the speedo and jammer start going see through after a while and they don't want people to see their butt crack. i usually wear a two speedos when one starts going see through. and we don't like going and getting new speedos all the time because then we have to deal with the extreme tightness for a couple weeks until they fit right again. we only want to put up with the really tight speedos for races, not for every practice.

Because they feel self-conscious about the fact that Speedos show off your genitals in a sexy way. Most males (in American society anyway) are taught that their genitals are something to be ashamed-of, and covered, and that if they dress in Speedo that "shows it off" then they fear people will think they're Gay.
