I have to do a project and it's a "current event essay". Anyone know of a good current event I could do an essay on? Please don't say the elections or Rumsfield stepping down because those are both boring topics. I just need a current event that I can write on. Thanks!

How about Britney's divorce? The story of the two people killed in the train wreck in California? The terror plots in the UK? Just some suggestions :-)

How about the war in Iraq and the death toll. Or the fact that last month the 300 millionth American was born. There is so much out there that is a current event just pick up a newspaper or watch your local news.

Well if you don't like any of the things that people said here you could always just go to Google and search for current events, look on Yahoo's front page. They have current stuff there, Or comcast.net, they have current events up too.
And if I were in your position I tihnk I would write about Gay Marraige, Animal Rights, Abortion or Britney and K-fed lol.

Well, do any current news stories make you want to know more? Are there are current events that seem interesting? If there are, use those, or ask your parents. I'm sure they could help.

First you need to pick something that makes you stop and think. What are you interested in? Then go from there. There is alot going on such as teens getting pg. Women getting beat or sexually abused by there husbands or boyfriends. Hope you get a good grade on your work.

I vote abortion im 13, and have been in constant finds with my friends about whether or not its a good idea. It strikes up conflicts but is interesting and a current event on whether or not its good, its a age old question that strikes every teen mother, it'd be interesting!
