I'm 7 weeks pregnant with my second baby. With my first I was always worried something bad was going to happen or something was going to go wrong and nothing did. I thought it would be different being that I've been through this before, but now I feel the same way. The more I read about things that could happen to you in your first trimester the more I worry. Is this normal? Did you feel the same way?

I know exactly how you feel. Although with my first I wasn't worried like I am now. I have been worried since the day I found out I was pregnant that every little sign was a miscarriage or something. Now that I'm 7 months I just worry about the baby's health and such after birth. I think it's totally normal. I mean there are babies that are born with severe problems or illness and you only hope that you are one of the lucky ones whose baby is born normal and healthy. I think if you don't have these fears some time or another then that's not exactly normal.

Yes, I think it is perfectly normal to worry even if you have been through it once before. I just had my baby in May and she is my first. I was the same way. I worried about everything, especially during my first trimester. I was always comforted when I had my check-ups at the doctor and especially when I had my sonograms because I could verify that everything was going fine. Bottom line, try to relax, take care of yourself the best you can and have your regular prenatal check-ups.

I too am pregnant with my 2nd-25 weeks now-and I still am every bit as worried as I was with my 1st son.During the 1st trimester I was worried I would miscarry, now I am worried he will die in utero or my water will break way too early,I cannot wait until I am in the hospital room actually holding my son-then I will breath a sigh of relief. And then I will have SIDS to think about-I really need to quit worrying!

I felt that way with each of my pregnancies. I would always worry no matter what. Then after I had the baby I would still worry about them being OK at night. I am just a worry wart I guess. Good luck.

I think this is one of the great challenges of pregnancy and motherhood. Life is a continual evolution and learning to accept and deal with the really hard stuff like pain, suffering and loss is part of the journey you have chosen. If we can just keep it to the forefront of our minds to cherish each day and do our best and treat each other well, then we ease our own path should hardship befall us.
You did not control falling pregnant and you cannot control the course of the pregnancy, that means you are left with no constructive way to deal with your fears. Remember that the child within you is influenced by your state. Breathe, be calm, try to let love conquer fear.

It is natural to worry - i am pregnant with my first and it took us 4 years to fall pregnant so i sometimes worry that if anything happens i cant just go and try again. Try to relax and enjoy it i am sure eveything will be fine.

Congrats
