I think Pippen was a better defender. He was the only guy in the league that could stop Michael Jordan, and he played with him! Utah and Phoenix, well... they never really had a chance to win.

I lean toward Pippen because he could guard the point to the post. But Jordan was a stealin' fool. So what do you want, steals or defensive rebounds?

I thought those guys retired a long time ago.
Jordan was always the better player. I believe he even won a few awards for his defensive play.

Definately Jordan. He Finished his career with 32,292 points, third place in scoring, and a career average 30.12 ppg, the best in NBA history. Yah Michael did retire. He retired exactly 3 times. Michael Jordan retired in 1993. He returned to the NBA and the Chicago Bulls in 1995. He retired again in 1999. He returned again in 2001 to the Washington Wizards. He retired for the final time April of 2003. The highest number of years he could have possibly retired in is 13 not 20.:)

I would have to say Pippen( by a hair) because he could guard multiple positions every one from the point up to and undersized four man

i would say jordan, because really the best form of defence is attack. and he was more of an alround player.
