Fashion changes, and so does popular opinion about various religions. 30 years ago, Christian Fundamentalism was the "fashion trend." Lots and lots and lots of TV evangelists broadcasted on their own TV networks. Over time, people lost their voices from shouting in church and got bit from handling snakes and most of the preachers got caught with prostitutes of both sexual inclinations, and now more and more people realize Christianity isn't what they thought it was. Atheism doesn't "teach" anything. You don't have to have any opinion about anything to be an atheist. My cat is an atheist, because she doesn't know anything about the existance of a god (other than me when I bring her dinner). But beyond that, atheists sometimes look at the Bible and comment at what it has to say, and make rude comments, or long involved analyses of history and evidence and etc etc etc. And some atheists say things without thinking about what they're gonna say (humans do that a lot anyway) and just sound dumb. So if you're dealing with teenagers who haven't been seasoned with a few decades of serious experience, education, and thought, then most of what they have to say on the topic may sound pretty dumb. Give 'em some time, though, and they'll have something worthwhile to listen to. Best wishes,

Giggle, What is "in fashion" for me, is whatever I happen to have put on that morning, and what I know I look good in because I get the compliments. I don't pay an arm and a leg for anything either. About a week ago I got a truly fabulous pair of black woven wool, ladies slacks, silk lined , looked brand new, and a perfect fit... at the Salvation Army for $2. 75 I matched it with a beautiful gold colored blouse ($2.50) and a black wool waistcoat (suit vest) with a gold and black patten on the front panels. ($1.50). Total $6. 75 Ka-chinnnnnggggg!
I get the biggest kick out of seeing those fancy-priced jeans in the Mall stores for anything up to $75, when I never fail to get just what I want from "good ole Sally" for around $2.50 a pop.

To be honest...it's what ever you want to wear. Be yourself, don't try wearing what others are wearing. It's good to be yourself.
