I took a first response pregnancy test two days ago and it came back positive. Still have not had period. I'm starting to get worried that maybe the test was in accurate. I called the local planned parenthood department and they said there was no need to come in for a blood test, if the home test was positive then its positive. Does anyone have personal experience with first response pregnancy tests?

First Response tests are one of the most accurate. If it says your pregnant, then you probably are. For information on all of the pregnancy tests, with ratings and pictures, see this website:

I would say that ANY over-the-counter brand would work just fine. Take one first thing in the morning, 10-14 days after a pregnancy risk, or the first day after your missed period, and it should show an accurate result.

However, the best and most reliable way (in my opinion), if you REALLY think you are pregnant, would be to get a serum (blood) test from a doctor or clinic. The results are very, very reliable and not that expensive.

Hope this helps.

First Response is one of the most sensitive tests on the market. If it says you are pregnant, then you are pregnant!

Congrats. It may be hard to believe, but you're going to be a Mom! Time to schedule that OB appointment, and make sure you are living healthy and taking those prenatal vitamins.

If you really want to confirm the positive you got at home, have a dr do a blood test. Those are very accurate and usually never wrong.

I hope you get the answer you want.

If it says pos, it is. It's looking for a hormone (HGC or something) that is only found in pregnant women. All the pregnancy tests I've taken (and that's a lot) were Ept's, and the dollar store to back it up. The three times I was preg, it said pos, and the katrillion other times that i wasnt, it said neg.

if the test said you were pregnant then you definently are. Those test don't show your a positive if it's not true. I used first response and it worked well.

I have heard that the CVS brand has a high detection as well as First Response. Both detect as low as 20 or 25mg of HCG I believe...

Here's a great website with chart comparing major brands.

EPT is the best I think but I have used first response and it is accurate! The ones that say they can tell you are early are reliable as well!
