You didn't mention what program you are using for email, however if your using Outlook or something similar you can remove your name, so it only displays your email address by going to Tools, Accounts, Mail Tab - click on Properties in that box, where it says, user name - type in your email address once again. Click Apply and close.
Good Luck!

If you are using the Yahoo Email then go to the Options> General Preferences>change or delete the name listed as the "From" name.
In the Beta Mail Options you need to go to the Accounts listed on the left side of the Options page. On the Account page select the Edit button and remove or change the name in the "From" box.

You'll need to make the changes in the "General Preferences" under the classic interface. But if you were using Y-Mail Beta, then how to get there may not be obvious. The quickest way I know is to go to "Options - Mail Options", select "Filters" in the sidebar (left), then click on "Create or edit filters" in the main panel. Once the new window/tab opens, you should see the classic preferences interface. Click on "[Back to Mail Options]", and the "General Preferences" option should be available in the main panel. Click on it and change the name displayed in the "From name:" entry.

In mail options just leave first and last name empty or put something that people would recognize you by but isn't your name.
